Tuberculosis (TB) Testing
The State of California requires all caregivers working within the healthcare industry to be tested and cleared for Tuberculosis (TB) every two years. If you have not received a TB clearance within the last two years (or cannot verify clearance by documentation), you must make arrangements to do so immediately. If you require a chest x-ray for TB clearance and you’ve already been tested and cleared (documented), we can use that verification even if older than two years. Appointments can be made for TB testing at either of the following locations:
Public Health Department (PHD) - 529 I Street, Eureka, CA; by appointment only (on Wednesdays) by calling (707) 268-2108
Mad River Occupational Health (MROH) - 3800 Janes Rd, Arcata, CA; by appointment (Mondays-Wednesday & Fridays) by calling (707) 825-4907
Cost for testing is $25 (PHD) and $30.63 (MROH). Agape Home Care will reimburse staff upon receipt of TB clearance documentation (a check can be picked up in advance of testing if necessary). TB clearances require one day for testing & then returning two or three days after for the reading/results. Documented results will need to be delivered to the Agape Administrative Office for your file (in person or by drop box).
